The Water Intake Calculator is designed to protect your personal information. Unlike traditional fitness or tracking apps, we believe your physical metrics (like body weight, height, age, gender) and daily habits (like wake-up times, bedtimes, and water intake history) should remain yours alone.

💡 Privacy Highlight: We do not run any backend servers to collect, upload, or process your physical measurements or hydration logs. Everything is stored and computed directly in your web browser.

2. How We Use Browser Storage (localStorage)

To provide a seamless tracking dashboard, calculations, streaks, and charts, our application utilizes standard browser storage (known as localStorage). The following keys are stored:

  • User Physical Metrics: Inputs from the calculator form (weight, height, age, activity level, environment temperature, bedtime, wake-up time, and gender). This allows the tool to display your custom recommendations automatically on subsequent visits.
  • Intake Logs: Time-stamped logs of your water consumption for the current day.
  • 7-Day Performance History: Aggregated daily totals to display weekly progress charts and calculate streaks.
  • Preferences: UI settings such as selected language preference and dark mode state.

You can completely delete all stored metrics and logs at any time by clicking the "Reset Day" button inside the tracker, or by clearing your browser's cookies and site data.

3. Third-Party Services & Analytics

We do not use any invasive third-party tracking scripts, advertising trackers, or fingerprinting software. We may utilize standard, privacy-respecting website analytics to measure overall visitor volume, but these metrics are fully anonymized, contain no personal health identifiers, and do not track your calculations or daily intake logs.

4. Data Security

Because your data is kept exclusively on your local device, its security depends on your browser and device settings. To keep your information private:

  • Avoid using the tracker on shared public computers, or clear site data after use.
  • Ensure your browser is updated to the latest version to prevent unauthorized local script access.
